In these days when socialist propaganda is front and center, let us take a close look at the individual person. To do this, it is vital that we look into the relationship of God to the individual.
In the first book of the Bible, we are told of Creator God, and His creations.
Perhaps the book of Genesis may be the most important piece of literature that exists.
Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
I used to wonder, as a very young boy, where all of the people and things I saw came from. Although billions of Bibles are bought (and some read) every year, many are not read through or examined more closely. But inside are the answers we are looking for!
I have an important question for all people: If God did not create all things, who did? And how did they do it? This question isn’t asked very often. – it may stop some in their tracks! If God did not create everything that we humans know about, then who did?
The book of Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 3 says…
God produced light. God divided the light from the darkness (verse 4). God next separated the waters from the land, and in verse 11, the earth began its chore of yielding grass and fruit. Soon we read that great creatures were created – some to inhabit the waters and others to roam on the earth.
In the 6th day, God created man. Verse 26 of Genesis 1 says: “Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
You may wonder about the phrase: “Let Us”, but this refers to the truth about God… that He exists in 3 Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each of the 3 Persons of God have the same authority but not the same work to accomplish.
Genesis 1:27 says: “So God created man in His own image; male and female created He them.” In human reproduction, we find that without reproduction we would have no humans… no men, no women. No other sex of humans is ever mentioned in the Bible except men and women. So 75 different genders and similar trash talk should be ended right there. There are only two human genders.
In the animal kingdom, multiple creatures of the same kind may be born at the same time. With humans, single births are typical, but there are exceptions, like twins, triplets, etc. We are concerned here with just the one human individual.
Endless Possibilities of the Individual
Let’s explore now the endless facts and possibilities of the individual.
Groups, clans and countries come about with the help of man. But the most important person in the world is the individual.
All of the activity of mankind was generated by a single created person at the dawning of time. Groups, cities, nations, etc. are secondary in this particular discussion.
Through many years, many moons, many trials and errors, the importance of the individual seem to have lost their meaning and importance. All of the groups, tribes, peoples and countries are still begun and carried on by the individual.
The great importance of the individual has already been established, because the individual is God’s creation. He is like God in his image. Because the Son of God (Jesus Christ) was born of a virgin, and lived upon our earth, we have a picture of the image of God by seeing the “God-man.” If God the Father were to walk on the earth as Jesus did, we might have a little better idea of the appearance of God.
Let’s get down to specifics: God created man, in His own image, after His likeness. Doesn’t this fact elevate the importance of man, the person, the individual?
This fact gives to man himself, a kind of glory that God expected of man, because man is from God. I will even dare anyone (or any group) to deny where man came from, and then prove their case.
Man Displaying Glory – Dignity, Self-Worth, Importance
Yes, it’s true! The individual person has a glory about him that you may not see, due to his behavior, etc. Would you expect that whatever was created by God would naturally have some dignity, self-worth and importance? I think so.
And because God in heaven is a LOVING God, could we not suppose that man (the individual) would have some loving qualities about him? The individual is capable of great things, of great intellect, and if he is close to God, man should project the meaning of life that God the Creator has.
